SIDLAK CARCAR! SADYA CARCAR!

Barangay Napo is one of the fifteen barangays of Carcar City in the province of Cebu, located in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. As an upland barangay, it is known for its peaceful rural landscape, agricultural livelihood, and rich historical significance.

Napo holds an important place in Cebu’s archaeological history. Ancient burial sites dating back to around 6700–3000 BC were discovered in Napo and nearby Ocana, considered among the earliest evidence of human settlement in Cebu. These excavations were led by archaeologist Rosa Tenazans and later confirmed by American archaeologist John Peterson.

Life in Barangay Napo reflects a strong community spirit rooted in farming, local traditions, cultural celebrations, and youth and heritage activities. The barangay is also connected to Carcar’s famous food culture, particularly its celebrated lechon, which symbolizes community gatherings and celebration.

Today, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Hon. Ronnel Nacua, Barangay Napo continues to progress through modernization and innovation. In partnership with Nextstepx Solutions Co., the barangay has implemented high-resolution AI-enhanced CCTV security and offers convenient online services through the Barangay Integrated System, allowing residents to transact digitally.

With a proud heritage and a commitment to progress, Barangay Napo warmly welcomes everyone to a community where tradition and innovation come together.
